Collection Development Policy

The Illinois Harvest / Large-scale Digitization Initiative is digitizing scholarly research contributions of the University and content about Illinois history, culture, and natural resources from the collections of the University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign. Content is being digitized in house, through our participation in the Open Content Alliance (OCA), and through contracts with other vendors. Current (2007) digitization projects include:

Open Content Alliance Scanning Center at the Oak Street Library Facility

Outsourced Digitization Projects

In-House Digitization Projects

Also Included in Illinois Harvest Portal

In addition to providing access to content being digitized as part of the initiative, the Illinois Harvest Portal is indexing complementary collections about Illinois history, culture, and natural resources held by other libraries in Illinois and throughout the nation. The Portal also integrates access to published scholarship by researchers in Illinois and elsewhere.
